Two days ago, on Sunday, my friend Nate’s dog, Trevor, staged an escape from his backyard and is currently missing. Sometime during the day a neighbor’s tree toppled over (I’m not sure exactly how) and knocked down part of Nate’s backyard fence. When he came home from work, Trevor was gone.
Trevor is a brownish/tan Whippet and is about two feet tall. He basically looks like a smaller version of Santa’s Little Helper from THE SIMPSONS, if that helps. I don’t believe he was wearing a collar at the time.
Here’s a picture of the adorable little mutant:

I know this is a long shot, but if you or anyone you know may have seen or found Trevor, please email me at josh-at-joshbales-dot-net, or Nate at diabolicalsound-at-earthlink-dot-net.
A reward is being offered.
Please repost/retweet this. It’d be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

you should definitely call your local law enforcement and ask what they do with strays, they probably have a contract with a kennel, shelter, or vet to take the animals, but after so many days (7-10 I think) the dog would officially become their property to do with as they wish (including putting them down if there are perceived behavioral issues.) Anyway so definitely call Animal control and ask them were they would bring in an animal they picked up.
Good Luck!
Nate has actually been to the nearby animal shelter the last two days. They took down a description of Trevor and told Nate to check with them every couple of days to see if Trevor had been brought in. Nate also has a posting up on Craigslist.
Thank you for the suggestion, though! I’m keeping my fingers crossed…
Hey dude, I know any messages without any information pertinent to finding Trevor probably aren’t what you want to read right now. But hang in there and keep looking man. I’m sure a neighbor or someone in town is probably looking after the pooch for ya, unaware that the dog is missing or even belongs to anyone.
No worries, Glen. I’m hoping Trevor is just nearby and being cared for. Thanks for the kind words.
Any luck finding Trevor?
Not as of yet. I haven’t given up hope, though. Thanks for checking.
Trevor has been found! Details are at this entry.
