Another story finished, prepped, and ready to be sent off — a task I will be performing tomorrow during my lunch break. Fortunately there’s a post office right down the road, so I don’t have to travel too far out of the way.

Perhaps this story — “It’s a Wonderful Death” — will be the one that gets published and then can deliver me out of obscurity.

I went to Michigan last Wednesday for “training” with my boss, who had a sales meeting. I put the quotation marks around training because there was quite honestly very little for me to learn, i.e. I pretty much already know everything anyone deigned to show me. What I did end up doing quite a bit of is: not sleeping, drinking, Guitar Hero-ing, and being very tired — and not necessarily in that order, either.

The biggest and awesomest thing that I learned on this trip is that I fucking love Guitar Hero. I played it with much tentativeness at first, not really seeing what The Big Deal was about the game. But after watching others play for a bit, and practicing playing with my fingers while doing so, I became significantly better at the game and began enjoying it a hell of a lot more. I think I played thirty songs Thursday night, and drank and talked shit with my boss’s boss. I also learned I really prefer Budlight over Miller light, which is what I imagine the taste of bottled asshole would be like.

The twopointfive day Michigan blitz was entertaining — and to my pleasant surprise, warm — but isn’t something I need to experience again anytime soon. I enjoy my sleep too much to be bothered with staying up till one or two and then going to work four hours later, plus I don’t like working while really hungover. Also — I think I’m starting to get the beginnings of a cold. Hopefully this Zycam shit I’m inoculating myself with works and keeps me from getting too bad off.
